Where Sisterhood Feels Like Home
24 Years of Sisterhood, Faith, and Unshakable Joy
At Humans at Help Foundation (HAHF), our Sisterhood Events are more than just gatherings — they are a celebration of faith, heritage, laughter, and legacy.
For over 24 years, our events have brought together women of all backgrounds, especially from the Latino Muslim community, to build a circle of empowerment rooted in spirituality, shared culture, and sisterly love. From potlucks to halaqahs, inspirational workshops to dawah in Spanish, every Sisterhood event is a tapestry of connection, storytelling, and reflection.
💃 Lively, joyful, and full of heart — these evenings are where faith and culture dance together, and where women find both solace and strength in one another.

A Glimpse Into the Spirit of Sisterhood
Imagine a night filled with the aroma of home-cooked dishes from every corner of Latin America, the echo of laughter across generations, and the power of Quranic reflections shared in Spanish. That’s what HAHF’s Sisterhood Events feel like.
Here’s what makes them unforgettable:
🌸 Highlights of Our Sisterhood Gatherings:
- Heartfelt Dawah in Spanish – Bridging faith and language with care and clarity for Latinas in Islam.
- Uplifting Guest Speakers – Beautiful talks by women like Sister Rayda Edding and Sister Karen Rios inspire, educate, and stir the soul.
- Potlucks Full of Flavor & Love – Everyone brings a dish; everyone leaves full — not just in body, but in spirit.
- Presentations that Bring Tears & Laughter – Like our 24-year slideshow, capturing memories, milestones, and the quiet strength of Latina Muslimahs.
- Workshops & Halaqahs – Thoughtfully curated discussions on themes like patience, gratitude, and personal growth.
- Sister Rebeca Abuqaoud’s Legacy – Honoring the pioneering work of Latina Muslims in Chicago — women who have paved the way for faith and culture to flourish together.
💖 Sisterhood is not a one-time thing. It’s the glow that lingers after the hugs, the dua, and the dessert.
Each event is women-only, free to attend, includes dinner, and often features babysitting services so mothers can fully enjoy and engage.
